To assess the residential history of BASE participants they were
asked to name all places or districts of residence since birth in
chronological order. Within Berlin, the relevant East or West Berlin
district was entered.
For each place of residence the following information is
available:
Whether the setting was urban or rural, how long the person had lived
in this place/district, reasons for moving out of that place, (stays
during the war, including flight, were taken into account).
Further, participants were asked in detail about places they have
lived in since the age of 60, especially when they moved after age
60, and in which type of residence they lived before moving.
Note:
According to the design, IP variable names for Time 1 have
the prefix s1,
names for Time 3 have the prefix s3, and names for Time 4 have the
prefix s4.
